Basic activities within the Project

Abraham's Seeds Project club meets every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The children receive attention and enjoy teachings, games, sport, music and lunch together.

It is very important to learn as much as possible about the children and their background, which allows  to find an effective way to help them. Some of the children are total orphans and others come from poor families; some have been abused or have never experienced parental love. In some groups in our  society there are traditional beliefs which disregard children.

As we progress in reaching out to children there is a lot that is discovered, which gives us the basis for designing our approach/ method. Whatever we are doing, we focus on giving hope, love and care to these young people.

In this respect therefore, our way of approach is designed to suit the children through the following:
  • We attend to children according to their age, because of the different levels of understanding, by placing them in small groups of 7-10 kids. It also helps to hear from them, given the small size of the group, where they can begin to share freely.
  • Sharing of the Scriptures about the love of God and his Kingdom, as well as about Jesus as our friend. This also takes place in small groups.
  • Organizing sports and games. Some of our friends in ministry are sportspeople, who have offered to train our children. The kids really enjoy these activities.
  • We also reach out to the children by sharing our experience, what we have gone through, by opening up to them and in turn they also open up their hearts to us.
  • Giving our life testimonies of life, sharing with them what God has done for us and telling them that God can do the same in their lives. This could concern the areas of our education, career, material things, His provision in our lives.
  • We lead open discussions, covering topics that can help the children to get to another level in every field of life, inspiring them to persistance and hard work.
  • Another major area of reaching out to them is through the providence of meals every Saturday as we meet for fellowships.
  • We also reach out to the young people through music, dance and drama.
  • Supporting them in school and finding sponsors for their education.
  • Involving the children in all kinds of activities is a very important way of approaching the young people - personal engagement into a specific task or project helps them make fast progress.

How to raise a godly generation?
  • By introducing them to Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, who died on the cross for our sins and shed His blood, so that we can accept Him as our Saviour and receive salvation by confession  and believing in our hearts [John 3:16].
  • By teaching them the commandments of God [Psalms 119].
  • By showing them the love of God and setting an example of such love, when we accept them as children (for the Kingdom of Heaven belong to them).
  • By telling them the truth, being faithful in small things, and meeting the promises we give them.
  • By involving them in the work and praying together.
  • By being there for them, and by teaching them discipline.
  • By instilling in them confidence, that they are somebody and they can make it.
  • By giving them enough time to express themselves through sharing.
  • By teaching them to be responsible, to be grateful and to value every good thing given to them.
  • By showing respect for all people both old and young.
  • In all things we need to be real models to our children in every area of life, so that they may appreciate and embrace the things they hear from us.

Why discipleship?
  • We disciple because it’s of God, because He desires young people to be taught in His ways [Psalms 78:3-8, Deuteronomy 4:9, 6:7].
  • We disciple young people so they can get the knowledge of their purpose in God, believe Him and grow in Him.
  • We disciple children so they can become responsible people in the country - to serve their people [Timothy 4:12].
  • We disciple young people so they will cherish godly values in their families and become good fathers and mothers of this generation.
  • We disciple young children to restore their broken foundations by teaching them the justice of our God.
  • We disciple children to give them inspiration for their future and help them discover the great love of God, which gives us a sense of belonging within the church of Christ.
  • We disciple them to train a generation which will handle God’s blessings.
  • We disciple young people to raise priests who will usher the nations into the fulfillment of God's plans.
